IPC Media Audiences

IPC Media produces over 85 iconic media brands, with print brands alone reaching almost two thirds of UK women and 44% of UK men –almost 27 million UK adults – while online brands collectively reach 20 million users every month.

IPC's diverse print and digital portfolio offers something for everyone, with a focus on three core audiences: men, mass market women and upmarket women.

Men's portfolio (IPC Inspire) comprises a wealth of leisure brands including Country Life, Horse & Hound, Rugby World and Decanter, as well as lifestyle brands including Nuts, Mousebreaker and NME. Today’s young and affluent men are discerning, media-elusive individuals who take their media on their own terms, both by content and delivery platform.

IPC Media is a leading content provider for today’s man. Operating across multiple platforms and experiential events IPCs iconic brands truly connect with young men offering what they want, when they want it and provide advertisers with multiple contact points to connect with and influence, the 18-34 year old male.

Mass market women's division (IPC Connect) comprises famous women's weeklies including Look, Now, Chat and Woman; TV entertainment brands including What's on TV, TVTimes and TV & Satellite Week and, online, the goodtoknow network. Most of the womens division consists of mums, there are seen to be constantly juggling tasks. Mothers take pleasure in occasional ‘me’ time, during which relaxing with a favourite magazine or visiting an inspirational website is a ‘must-do’.

IPC Media is the UK’s leading consumer publisher for mass market mothers. Their weekly magazines and websites are packed with inspiration, entertainment, information, advice, celebrity and real-life appealing to mums (and women) of all ages and attitudes.

Advertisers access these powerful communication platforms predominantly through IPC Weeklies, which represents IPC Connect [women’s weeklies] and IPX TX [television titles] in print and online.

Upmarket women's division (IPC Southbank) comprises luxury fashion brands including Marie Claire and InStyle, lifestyle brands including woman&home and essentials and home interest brands including Ideal Home, Livingetc and housetohome. Their magazines contain high quality imagery and high quality editorial - Fashion and Beauty trends and advice, Home Styling, Celebrity, Environment, Education, Business and Real World news.

Delivered to their readers through glossy magazines and exciting websites, IPC Media provides advertisers with wonderful opportunities to associate with famous media brands and connect with millions of affluent, aspirational and inspirational women.

My group and I feel that our audience is more likely to be mass market women and upmarket women, as we feel they will connect with the film more and find it more appealing than men. Also, if our poster or magazine cover was to be advertised, we think that it could appear in a magazine like Look, Now, InStyle etc. My group and I didn't think it would be appropriate for our poster or magazine cover to appear in a men's magazine like Nuts or NME.
